Abstract:

One of the obstacles to the conceptual development of Resistive Economy is the primary different perceptions of the dimensions of Resistive Economy among different experts, including media practitioners. Because of the extended scope of dissemination and speed of diffusion of information in cyberspace, the research conducted by content analysis method encompassing disseminated content about Resistive Economy from NEWS agencies and websites. The statistical population were all written texts related to the Resistive Economy published in 2015. The findings show that the studied media highlighted relevant institutions in light of supporting or not supporting Resistive Economy based on time and issues disseminated through media streams. The media issued little content about policy-making and providing operational strategies on Resistive Economy discourse. Also, they merely focused on the concept of Resistive Economy and couldn't provide a solution to audiences based on current and everyday issues.

Abstract:

NEWS agencies are one of the sources of information and health NEWS in our country. However, the study that examined the issue of health communication in this media has been less widely seen. "Health Communication" is the art of information technology, the impact and encouragement of individuals, institutions and public audiences on important health topics. This article aims to understand the approach of three NEWS agencies ISNA, TASNIM and MEHR in addressing the issue of "promoting health" and "understanding the format of health messages" in the COVERAGE of health-related topics. For studying, the framework for framing theory and the Tannahill Health Promotion Model, which depicts the areas of health promotion, and content analysis method were used. 507 items were investigated during the period from May to August 2014. The findings showed that among the various health topics, NEWS agencies considered "health-related benefits, such as proper nutrition, exercise, and vaccination, " with 18. 9%. Supporting health in the media in the form of three themes: "health policies", "legal and legal controls" and "restrictive or unwanted policies of unhealthy actions" were investigated, which supports health agencies with 70. 6% in the form of "health supportive policies". They considered less than two other issues. Aggregates have highlighted early prevention, with 83 percent showing. NEWS agencies have used more positive messages in the formulation of health messages, with a frequency of 32. 4%.

Abstract:

This paper aims to examine how Bangladesh has become weaker on democracy despite the increasing number of public and private media in Bangladesh. According to the constitution، Bangladesh is a democratic country and though existing a lot of media outlets including 44 television channels in the country، people's participations in the election and political activities in the country are declining. In the other hand. Theoretically، a general assumption is that when the number of media increases، usually democracy becomes stronger. To address the issue، we attempted to analyze media COVERAGE of four important issues and their relation with the state of democracy in Bangladesh. Our findings indicate that Bangladeshi media COVERAGE is in favor of the dominant political and economic groups. Despite some important differences between the United States of America and Bangladesh، particularly in terms of religion and culture، it seems the propaganda model of media performance، suggested by Herman and Chomsky is applicable in Bangladesh. In addition، there are no major differences between the NEWS COVERAGE of different media outlets of Bangladesh.

Abstract:

Introduction: In light of the function of NEWS in reflection of politics and practice relevant to health and with the aim of the analyses of health NEWS COVERAGE this article deals with a comparison of media valuations in Corona NEWS of Iranian and German television programs. Methods: The study is descriptive with content analyses of NEWScasts. The sample comprises 62 NEWS broadcasts of four networks that were chosen non randomly from two Iranian (Networks One and Two) and two German channels (ARD and ZDF). After the choice of dimensions and themes of the health NEWS a code sheet was created by which 749 NEWS related to health, mainly to Corona, and aired from February 18th to March 22nd, 2020 were encoded and analyzed (with SPSS). Results: Almost a third of all health NEWS on Iran's Networks One and Two (32. 9% and 28. 4%, respectively) featured ratings with no clear distinction from actual NEWS content. The two German broadcasters generally concentrated on the hard facts and largely adhered to the separation rule between NEWS and commentary. For NEWS about health-related human and material capacities and shortages, the rate of positive ratings in Iranian networks was higher than for all health NEWS (Network One 13. 3% vs. 10. 7% and Network Two 22. 8% vs. 11. 5%). The main feature of political NEWS related to health is the high proportion of negative ratings in Iranian channels and on ZDF. Conclusion: To build confidence in the NEWS, the separation between messages and comments can play an appropriate role.

Abstract:

In order to determine the role of the US withdrawal from Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPA) in 2018 in the evolution and change of the poverty framing, this study analyzes how poverty is framed in two categories of specialized (including leadership, Dolat, Mizan, Icana) and general websites (including Fars, Moj and Young Journalists Club) during 2017, 2018 and 2019. For this, it uses Framing as a theory, and the technique of Pan and Kosicki’s Frame analysis as a research method. Findings are categorized in four groups as syntactical, script, thematic, and rhetorical. The review indicates that 42,302 NEWS and reports are distributed in these websites in the research period that 275 were identified as samples and recorded and analyzed in Maxquda software. The results show that, except for the Young Journalists Club, the way poverty is framed has changed on all cases since the imposition of sanctions, and sanctions highlighted as one of the main causes of poverty in the framing of poverty. In regard of agenda setting, the COVERAGE of poverty NEWS and reports is less than 10%; the poverty NEWS COVERAGE has been declining over the three years under study. The websites of Leadership and Moj have the largest COVERAGE, and Young Journalists Club has the least amount (less than 1%) of COVERAGE. Due to his type of agenda setting, the problem of poverty is marginalized in public opinion. The framing of poverty with emphasis on the US withdrawal from JCPA as the cause of poverty represent poverty as a temporary issue, silences the voice of the poor, and depicts the emergence of a new social form in Iranian society.

Abstract:

Background: The general population’ s understanding of musculoskeletal health is likely influenced by media reports of the ailments of prominent athletes. We assessed factors independently associated with debatable or potentially misleading medical statements in mainstream sports media COVERAGE of the ailments of professional and college athletes. Methods: We identified and assessed 200 Internet media reports of musculoskeletal ailments of prominent athletes between February 19th and March 26th, 2018. We recorded medical statements about mechanism, diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis. We then classified those statements as accurate, debatable, or possibly misleading. We created a multivariable logistic regression model to identify factors independently associated with debatable or possibly misleading statements. Results: Forty-five percent of statements were debatable or possibly misleading. Statements about diagnosis (Odds Ratio [OR]=0. 17; P< 0. 001), treatment (OR=0. 33; P=0. 007), or prognosis (OR=0. 27; P=0. 003) and statements about shoulder and elbow ailments were more likely to be inaccurate compared to statements about mechanism and statements about knee ailments (OR=3. 3; P=0. 04) respectively. Conclusion: COVERAGE of sports ailments in the mainstream media are a common source of misinformation. Ailments of prominent athletes may represent a useful opportunity to teach people about musculoskeletal health.

Abstract:

The present study attempts to shed lights on the way "climate-related usual and disastrous events" are forecasted by Iran Meteorological Organization and how they are covered by IRIB. This research is carried out through a "content analysis" of NEWS items broadcast various provincial NEWScasts as well as Channel One NEWScast at 21: 00 and IRINN NEWScast at 13: 00 during the years of 2014, 2015 and 2016. The results of each NEWScast have been compared. For practical aims, as survey was conducted and the views of meteorological experts as well as NEWS editors-in-chief with regard to the way weather-related NEWS events are managed were gathered consequently. The findings indicated that the rhetoric and terminology used in almost half of the weather reports on dangerous and disastrous events were not "sensitizing and warning". About 22 percent of critical events were not forecasted in the Meteorological Organization's announcement and 33 percent of weather reports were not consistent with the organization's forecast announcements. In 92.5 percent of weather reports, no experts and employers-at-risk were interviewed for training implications. The forecasts of 58.5 percent of dangers were reflected as usual weather events with low priority at the end of NEWScasts and with the same amount of time (55 percent of weather reports on usual events and 47 on critical events lasted from one to two minutes). Literature review shows that no other study has been carried out on the subject about IRIB. Therefore, the present work is a new and innovative research.
